Alberts Family Receives Stewardship Forest Award

Alberts Family Receives Stewardship AwardByron Alberts of rural Palisade received the Forest Stewardship Award from State Forester, Gary Hergenrader and District Forester, Jon Wilson on June 28, 2000. The Albert's Forest Stewardship Plan envisions a series of field windbreaks to protect crops and reduce soil erosion.

Byron was very agreeable to trying a new, innovative windbreak design. The trees have had excellent growth and are highly visible to passing traffic. The results of Byron's tree planting and maintenance efforts are well deserving of recognition The impact of his tree planting on the landscape is an excellent example of land stewardship.
